In addition to numerous design innovations, the XTR-12 rifle is developed from an AR10 platform. It is a 12-gauge caliber, semi-automatic with single column detachable magazine ranging from 2 to 15 rounds.

It is designed as a weapon for police and civilian use, suitable for tactical work and sport shooting.

It is particularly suitable for shooters used to AR-15/AR-10 type rifles, since it has the same ergonomics as well as the same commands.

The XTR-12 is gas-operated and uses a rotating six lugs bolt. It features a short stroke gas piston and a manual gas regulator with 2 settings. Upper and lower cases are made of forged 7075 T6 aluminum alloy, all main controls (cocking lever, safety, magazine release and bolt release) are like AR-10/AR-15 rifles. In the basic configuration, the XTR-12 is equipped with a retractable carbine-style stock, top Picatinny rail that has NATO STANAG 4694 accessory rail specification.
