Innovative mechanical design, innovative manufacturing processes and innovative materials used in the production of firearms define UTAS and set the company apart from others in the firearms industry. In addition to many design innovations, the new UTS-15 shotgun recently developed by UTAS will be the first shotgun ever produced with a receiver made from 100% polymer. In fact, over 80% of the gun is made from fiber reinforced injection molded polymer. Of course, the use of new lightweight materials in firearms must be backed by solid engineering and UTAS does just that. We also distinguish the AR-type semi-automatic rifle, chambered in 12 gauge or the PCC UT9M – Mini 9 as being one of the most compact and light submachine guns that exists.

In the UTAS design studio, the team works with a 3D CAD/CAM computer engineering program to bring a concept firearm to virtual reality. Once the individual parts have been fully conceptualized in the computer program, UTAS engineers evaluate the part and recommend the manufacturing process and material. Therefore, all firearms are developed using a team approach that integrates design, engineering, and manufacturing to produce the best weapon for its intended use.
